2. Data Protection Officer (Datenschutzbeauftragter)

A data protection officer is currently not appointed, as this is not legally required when fewer than 20 persons are regularly involved in the processing of personal data (Section 38 BDSG). For data protection enquiries, please contact Tino Loest using the contact details above.

5. Hosting

Our platform is hosted via Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When accessing the website, connection data (IP address, time, browser type) is automatically transmitted to Cloudflare.

Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Retention period: Server logs are stored by Cloudflare for a maximum of 72 hours.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. User Accounts and Authentication

For registration and management of user accounts we use Supabase (Supabase, Inc., San Francisco, USA). The database is hosted in the USA. During registration, email address and optionally name are processed. We also store profile details, bookmarks, read articles, and prediction game votes.

Supabase is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Retention period: Account data is stored until deletion of the user account and then deleted within 30 days.

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

7. Web Analytics

We use Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc., San Francisco, USA), a privacy-friendly web analytics solution. Umami does not collect personal data, does not set cookies, and does not store IP addresses. Only anonymised, aggregated data is collected (page views, time on site, device type, country).

Since no personal data is collected, there is no third-country transfer of personal data. Retention period: Aggregated statistics are stored indefinitely; they do not allow conclusions about individual persons.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No consent is required.

8. Newsletter

For sending our newsletter "Kurzpass" we use Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Koepenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin). Data processing takes place within the EU. Registration uses a double opt-in process. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing hello@fuwo.app.

Retention period: Your email address is stored until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and then deleted without delay.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

9. Embedded Content and Social Media

Our platform may embed content from third-party providers, in particular videos from Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) and TikTok (TikTok Technology Ltd., Ireland). When loading this content, a connection to the respective provider's servers is established, transmitting your IP address and other browser data.

We have no control over the data processing by these third parties. For more information, please refer to the privacy policies of Instagram and TikTok.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

10. External Links (Startnext)

Our platform links to the crowdfunding page Startnext (Startnext Crowdfunding GmbH, Dresden). When visiting the linked page, the privacy policy of Startnext applies. We do not transmit any personal data to Startnext.

11. Fonts

We use exclusively self-hosted fonts. No data is transmitted to external servers when loading fonts.

12. Cookies and Local Storage

Our platform uses only technically necessary cookies and local storage mechanisms (localStorage). We do not use any marketing or tracking cookies.

Retention period: Authentication tokens are stored until logout. Settings (e.g. dark mode) and local bookmarks remain until manually deleted by you.
